Schenectady native Cody Dickershaid is one of New York’s most active featherweights and has travelled the upstate region showcasing his talent. The 24 year old Dickershaid, who represents Garage MMA and is trained by Justin Schoenborn, is one of the area’s most exciting amateur fighters. Fighting for 5 different promotions throughout New York, Dickershaid has earned a hard fought record of 6-6 and is the current Colosseum Fighting Alliance (CFA) Featherweight Champion. Always active, Dickershaid has also been getting the cage and mat time in with his cousin and current CFA Middleweight Champ Eddie “The Sledgehammer” Haws and Cory Ford, and is ready to defend his hard earned title.
MMA DIRT caught up with Dickershaid, who is currently locked into an intense training camp. According to the champ, “On June 11th, I’ll be defending my title against David Werhrnberg in Latham at CFA 2. My training is always great and I’m always working hard and pushing myself to the next limit to reach my goal of going pro.”
Remember the name Cody Dickershaid folks, this guy is the real deal and be sure to check him out on June 11th at CFA 2. Check back here at MMA DIRT in the coming weeks for the full CFA 2 lineup and for information on tickets to the event.
