MMA DIRT PRO BLOGS
Since my first post I’ve been stranded in the great state of Texas, home of great Americans like George Bush, and more importantly Willie Nelson. I got into Austin the week after my last fight for GWC, which I lost via RNC after handing out an ass whooping worthy of George W's shock and awe. The first week I was pretty much eating at all of the awesome places to eat in this weird little town, and sleeping, much to the dismay of my girlfriend, who "suggested" that I get my ass back in gear before she had to kill me.
In week two I harnessed my inner meat head and got my swol on at the local Gold's Gym. Within a week I couldn't move my arms if I wanted to and decided it was time to get back on the mat. So like any silly MMA fan I turned to Twitter and contacted the bane of my body's existence for the next few weeks, Tim Kennedy.
My first training session with Tim at Austin Muay Thai was a lesson in leverage, and superior conditioning because clearly as I had taken the last two weeks to get bloated, Tim was every bit the imposing physical specimen who we all see TV. I say this in all seriousness; Tim Kennedy is the heaviest man on top of you on this planet, fact.
Now I am a week into my training regime in Austin, still trying to find a place to stay when I go back to ATT. Since I am no longer managed by Monte Cox, I don’t have a house to stay in. I feel comfortable with the idea of getting ready for a fight in Austin. Getting rag dolled by Tim Kennedy and feeling like a weak little girl with Colton Smith will mentally prepare anyone for a fight with a mere mortal…..
Next time... Shawn Jordan and I drive from Texas to S. Florida.
